Unfortunately V, whole parish catechesis is slow in coming in most parishes in the US, especially down here. And yes, the 1st or 2nd grade level is what most of our adults faith intelligence is at. So much work to do in this vineyard…

In reference to your mom’s question above: You are God’s child. =)

Many parishes are going towards Whole Community Catechesis, which in idea works very well, but there is still a part of that which is age segregated. I think its nice to take the 3 year olds out for a special 3 year old message while the adults get a message at a higher level. I worry that many parents get the CCD message and never think or worship at a higher level than that…

RE: Seeing the face of Christ. Paul Quinn stayed with us Tuesday night thru Wednesday afternoon. His electric bill hadn’t been paid so TXU cut it off. You could see Christ in his face in his need. And you could see it in John’s face because he was so worried about Paul. John talked to him and took care of his needs while he was here, took him shopping for cat food, walked him home, carried his bag. Two different age groups, same face, Christ’s.
